Consumer Duty
The FCA introduced the Consumer Duty regime in July 2023 as a landmark framework aimed at raising standards of consumer protection across financial services, including payment service providers. The "Duty” sets higher and clearer standards of consumer protection, requiring firms to act in good faith and avoid causing foreseeable harm. This is achieved through meeting four defined 'Outcomes'.
